On  a wintry morning we set off in a group of 6 for our long cherished jeep safari to the untamed Corbett National Park. Our hearts were beating fast at the thought of seeing the world famous Royal Bengal Tiger in our own eyes.

We started in mod April and our jeep safari was booked online. The climate was cool and pleasant and it is the best time for wildlife buffs to enjoy the tranquility of nature.

We started our journey from Ramnagar which is a township located about 65 Km from Nainital. We booked an open Corbett Jeep safari form Daily Tour and Travel Pvt. Ltd. for exploring the remotest parts of Corbett where leopards and elephants have a free reign.

Our driver Vikas was a young man of in hid mid 20s very polite and experienced in his profession. As we started from Ramnagar, Vikas started giving us valuable tips on jeep safari as it was our first ever trip.

We had a local guy named Laxman as our guide who has been in this profession for more than twenty five years. As we entered into the jungle territory Laxman showed us the footprints of tigers that came the night before in search of it’s prey.

We were a bit scared. Seeing that our guide assured us that tigers do not come out of their habitat in day light. We halted at a local roadside tea stall for some refreshment and after half an hour headed towards our destination.

It was a day’s journey and before dusk set in Vikas dropped us safely to Ramnagar at our hotel.
